Step 1: Prepare the ingredients. 

  • Soak the butterfly pea flowers into a bowl of water until it produces a beautiful blue or purple color. 
  • Soak the sticky rice for at least 6 hours, then drain the water and soak them again with the butterfly pea flower water for about 10 – 15 minutes.
  • After that, take the sticky rice out and drain the excess water. Add grated coconut, a pinch of salt, some sugar, some coconut milk and mix well.
  • Let the sticky rice rest for 5 minutes.
  • Peel the mangoes and cut into bite-sized slices.

Step 2: Cook the dish

  • Put a pot on a stove and bring it to a boil. Then steam the sticky rice inside for 40 minutes.
