Cooking steps

Step 1: Prepare the ingredients.

  • Take the crab shell off. Use only the meat and eggs inside. Crush the crab to get as much flesh as possible. 
  • Pick the spoiled leaves and roots from the Malabar Spinach, only use the fresh parts. Wash the vegetables and soak into diluted saltwater.

Step 2: 

Put the crab flesh into a mill, add a pinch of salt and mince it well (you can also use a blender instead). After that, filter for the crab liquid, remove the residue. Do this 2-3 times so that the liquid is smooth. 

Step 3:

Simmer the crab flesh liquid until the flesh floats on the surface.

Step 4:

Add the Malabar spinach in, stir well and cook until the spinach is soft. Turn off the heat and let it simmer. Season the soup to your liking.

Step 5:

Pour the steamy soup into a bowl and simply enjoy this simple soup dish.

River-leaf creeper & Chicken Soup – Easy Soup Dishes

Cooking steps

Step 1: Prepare the ingredients.

  • Clean the chicken, massage it with some salt to get rid of the raw smell.
  • Wash the chicken flesh through water again, let it dry and slice into bite-sized pieces. 
  • Marinate the chicken with 1 teaspoon of MSG, 1 teaspoon of sugar, ½ teaspoon of salt, and a pinch of black pepper for about 20 – 30 minutes. 
  • Fry some minced garlic and stir-fry the chicken slightly. 
  • Wash the river-leaf creeper, crush them lightly to make it sour but not too hard, since this will affect the taste of the soup later.

Step 2: 

After you’re done with preparing the chicken, put the meat in a pot with about 2.5 bowls of water and boil them. While waiting for the broth to boil, add chili flakes, seasonings to your taste and close the lid. 

Step 3: 

When the broth is boiled, add the river-leaf creeper in, stir lightly and wait for it to boil again. Turn off the heat and let the soup simmer. 

Step 4: 

Pour the soup into a bowl. Garnish the soup with some chilies and fresh herbs. The hot soup is ready to be served. 

Snakehead Sour Soup – Easy Soup Dishes

Cooking steps

Step 1: Prepare the ingredients. 

  • Clean the snakehead, wash it with saltwater or alcohol to get rid of the slime and the fishy smell. Chop it into nice slices. 
  • Marinate the fish with some fish sauce, minced salt, pepper, chili, and scallions for 20 minutes so the fish could absorb the flavors.
  • Peel the pineapple and cut it into small slices.
  • Dice the tomatoes.
  • Wash the onions, cilantro, chives, and chilies and chop them well.

Step 2:

Heat the oil on a pan and fry the minced onions. Add the fish in, stir-fry until the fish is slightly cooked and smells good.  

Step 3:

Add the tomatoes and stir lightly, try not to crumble the fish.

Step 4:

Once the fish is cooked, add the tamarinds and some water in. Taste and season to your liking. 

Step 5:

Add pineapples in when the soup boils. Simmer the soup for about 5 minutes until the pineapple is soft. Continue tasting and adjusting the flavors. 

Step 6:

Take the tamarind out, stir them to get the sour juice, and taste if the flavor is alright. Season the soup again to your liking.

Step 7:

Let it boil for about 2 minutes. Then add green onions, coriander, chives, and turn off the heat. 

Step 8:

Pour the soup into a bowl, garnish with fresh herbs, and take it to the table for your family to enjoy.

Pickled Mustard Greens & Beef Soup – Easy Soup Dishes

Cooking steps 

Step 1: Prepare the ingredients. 

  • Wash the beef and let it dry off a bit. Slice it into thin slices and marinate with a pinch of MSG, salt, and pepper. 
  • Mince the garlic, shallots. Wash the green onions and chop them into small pieces (about 3cm long)
  • Dice the tomatoes.

Step 2:

Heat the pan with some cooking oil. Add the minced garlic and shallots in and fry them. Next, add the beef in and stir-fry under high heat until it’s slightly cooked. Take the beef out and move them to a new bowl. 

Step 3:

Add some more cooking oil and pour the tomatoes in a pot. Add the pickled mustard greens in and stir-fry them together. Season the dish with some MSG, taste carefully to adjust the sour taste.

Step 4: 

Stir-fry until the vegetables are cooked and the broth thickens. Pour 400ml of water in (we recommend using the pickled broth for a stronger taste). 

Step 5:  

Bring the pot to a boil and then add the stir-fried beef in. Once it boils again, turn off the heat and drop some diced tomatoes in.

Step 6: 

Pour the soup into a bowl, garnish with fresh chopped green onions and it’s ready to be served!!
