Korean food: Kimchi Soup
Ingredients

1 | Cabbage Kimchi | 400gram (about 2 bowls) |
2 | Pork belly or beef (less fat) | 150 – 200gram |
3 | Korean chili paste Gochujang | 1 – 3 teaspoons |
4 | Tofu | 1 – 2 pieces |
5 | Kimchi juice | 120 ml |
6 | Minced garlic, ginger, black pepper | 1 teaspoon each |
7 | Sesame oil, soy sauce | 1 each |
8 | Baro green onion | 1 – 2 onions |
9 | Water | 480gram (or 600gram if you don’t have kimchi juice) |
Cooking steps
Step 1: Prepare the ingredients.
- Cut Kimchi into 2-3cm pieces.
- Clean the meat and slide into bite-sized leader.
- Wash the green onions thoroughly.
Step 2:
- Stir-fry the minced garlic, ginger till golden. Next, add meat, kimchi, chili powder, and sesame oil.
- Stir fry until the meat is no longer red.
Step 3:
- Add Kimchi juice, water, soy sauce, some garlic and bring it to a boil
- When the pot boils, turn down the heat and season the food.
- Let it simmer for 15 minutes. After that, turn off the heat, cover the lit and let it cook slowly by steam.
Step 4:
- After about 5 minutes, open the lit and add the tofu as well as the green onions. Next, close the lit again for about 5 minutes.
NOTE: The Kimchi will be slightly salty and sour. You should continuously taste the dish to season it well; if necessary, add a few tablespoons of water to your liking.
Korean food: Stir-fried pork with Kimchi

3 | Chili powder or Gochujang (chili paste) | 1 tablespoon |
4 | Cooking oil | 1 tablespoon |
5 | Seasonings (salt, pepper, chili powder, garlic powder, sugar) | 2 tablespoons |
6 | Chopped onion | 1 teaspoon each |
Cooking steps
Step 1: Prepare the ingredients.
- Cut the Kimchi into slices about 1 – 2 cm thick.
- Clean the pork belly and slice it into bite-sized pieces about 0.5 – 1 cm thick
- Dice the onion and green onions.
Step 2:
- Heat the pan with cooking oil and fry the pork belly until the meat is slightly cooked.
- Add Kimchi and stir well altogether.
Step 3: After the pork belly and kimchi both have a vibrant and attractive red color, add the onions, some sugar, salt, pepper and stir again. Taste and season to your liking until you’re satisfied with the taste.
Step 4: Add chili powder or Korean chili paste, stir again until the flavor spreads evenly and the dish smells good. Cook for about three more minutes and turn off the heat. Take the pan off the oven and put it on the table. Garnish with some diced green onions and enjoy this dish with steamy hot rice.
Korean food: Seaweed Chicken Roll

2 | Seaweed for sushi rolls | 1 pack |
3 | Carrot | 1 carrot |
4 | Japanese green beans | 8 – 10 beans |
5 | Pork paste | 100 gram |
6 | Chili powder or Korean chili paste | 1 tablespoon |
7 | Minced lemongrass | 1 teaspoon |
8 | Seasonings (salt, pepper, MSG) | 1 teaspoon each |
9 | Cooking oil | 1 tablespoon |
10 | Mayonnaise | 30gram |
11 | Tempura Batter Mix | 1 pack |
Cooking steps
Step 1: Prepare the ingredients.
- Wash the chicken with water. Cut the chicken into thin squares, marinate with ½ teaspoon of chili powder, 1 teaspoon of minced lemongrass and 1 teaspoon of tempura batter mix. Mix well and let it rest for 10 minutes to absorb the seasoning.
- Clean and peel the green beans and carrots. Slice the carrots into thin strips, about 1cm thick. Keep the green beans as they are.
Step 2:
- Boil the green beans and carrots. Take them out and drain excessive water.
- Cut the seaweed the same size as the chicken pieces.
Step 3:
- Spread the chicken meat on a flat platform and put pork paste on it .
- Put the seaweed on the chicken and add another layer of pork taste.
- Finally, put a carrot strip and a green bean on top of those and roll tightly.
Step 4:
- Heat the pan with oil.
- Coat the seaweed chicken roll with tempura battery mix.
- Drop the roll into the boiling oil pan and fry until it’s golden brown and crispy.
- Take the chicken roll of seaweed out, slice it into bite-sized slices, and decorate on a plate. Add some Mayonnaise and chili sauce. This dish can be served with tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce.
Dessert: Mango Jelly

1 | Jelly powder | 1/2 package (6g) |
2 | Sugar | 350gram |
3 | Ripe mango | 1 mango |
4 | Unsweetened sugar | 150 – 200 ml (1 package) |
5 | Water | 1.2 liter |
Cooking steps
Step 1: Prepare the ingredients.
- Wash and peel the mangos.
- Puree them with some milk and filtered till smooth.
Step 2:
- Mix the jelly powder well with granulated sugar
- Pour 1.2 liters of water and stir well until it all dissolves.
Step 3: Boil the jelly mixture, stir and remove the foam continuously for about 5-7 minutes.
Step 4: Divide the jelly mixture into 2 bowls:
- The first bowl: add milk to make milk jelly
- The second bow1: add mango puree to make mango jelly
Step 5: Pour the jelly into the mold of your choice.
Note: pour the first layer of jelly and wait for it to dry, then add the second layer. Keep doing this again and again to have a beautiful multi-layered dessert.
